Eligibility
Artists residing in the city limits of Pierce and King County.
Opportunity
- 1 artist will be selected to design and paint a mural in downtown Tacoma for a Republic Parking garage.
- Top applicants will be compensated $200 for a design mock up for review by a panel.
- Selected artist will be compensated $8,000 for mural completion. A portion of $2000 of the total compensation will be paid to cover necessary materials to complete the mural.
- Mural to be completed by the end of the year.

- Each side of the entrance where the edge of the entry to the garbage or signage on the left is 5 feet wide.
- Full Height is 12 feet, 5 inches
- If you have ideas where the top sign goes instead of the sign – that small gap is 36 inches.
Selection Panel
Applications are reviewed and voted on by a panel of three individuals comprised of one artist, one Spaceworks Steering committee member, and one public art facilitator.
Applicants will be notified on Monday, August 31st, 2026.

- An artist or artist team will be selected to design and paint a mural at the 12th Street Hill Climb on 1134 Commerce St Tacoma WA 98402.
- Top three applications will be compensated $200 for a more detailed design mock up for review by a panel.
- Selected artist or artist team will be compensated $25,000 for mural completion.
- A portion of the total compensation will be awarded to cover necessary materials to complete the mural of $5000.
- Wall square footage section varies. We encourage artists to visit the location to understand the scope of design opportunities.
- We welcome artists to utilize existing components in their design proposals.
- The mural is to be completed by the end of the year.

Selection Panel
Applications are reviewed and voted on by a panel of seven individuals comprised of one artist, three adjacent property owners, one student from NCAD, one steering committee member, and one community stakeholder.
Top three applicants will be notified on Monday, September 7th, 2026.

- Two artists will be selected to design and paint a mural in the Stadium district.
- Top applicants will be compensated $200 for a more detailed design mock up for review by a panel.
- Selected artist will be compensated $5500 for mural completion. A portion of the compensation of $1500 will be provided to cover necessary materials needed to complete the mural.
- Wall square footage section is approximately 524 sq feet. The wall is not a full rectangle, it has a slope where the height goes from 4 feet tall to approximately 13 feet tall. The wall is approximately 124 feet wide. The section from the highest point will be approximately 51 feet long while the lowest point will be approximately 73 feet long. - The mural is to be completed by the end of the year.
